September Updates

Hello everyone, it's been a long time. I didn't know where to proceed from the last update and also lacked the motivation to continue, so I apologize for the silence.

Since then, I've been doing well and hope you all were too.

This dev log brings a showcased video containing my (mostly trial and error) take on a drag and drop inventory system with a combine item function! As for un-showcased things, I'm currently working on a cooking mini game where you will interact with the ingredients by chopping/slicing, peeling, juicing, seasoning, and so on said ingredients. I don't see the mini game containing in-depth real life cooking techniques, such as ovens and waiting for your oven to finish baking, but instead we'd be going the "magic" route and have it instant finish.

A tutorial regarding the inventory system will come out sometime soon, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, you can check out our old tutorial videos on our YouTube channel: SaeLin Studios - YouTube Keep note that it's also been a while since it was last updated :(

If you've read this far and don't wish to read any more on the technicalities, that'll be it. Stay safe and thank you.

Extra Information

Regarding the inventory system, it is completely drag and drop - only inside the boundaries of the inventory window. Some items, such as the "Key Part 1", "Key Part 2", and "Key Part 3", when arranged in the correct order (1, 2, 3), will be combinable from the inventory with a "+" symbol on it. This is NOT the same as crafting! (At least not in our minds)

The cooking mini game is still an early work in progress. If you wish to see frequent (smaller) updates, check out our Twitter: SaeLin Studios (@SaelinStudios).

The YouTube video on the inventory system will come out sometime between this month and the next month - again, I'm still battling massive motivation issues and also have real life going on but I'll keep trying :)
